Congratulations! 10 November 2009, Norway: 50 members of The Board of Trondheim University unanimously voted against an academic boycott of Israel.
Earlier 116 academics of NTNU (Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet i Trondheim) petitioned to boycott Israeli universities since they “take part in the occupation”. This proposal met a storm of protests in the world scientific community, including protest of 10 Nobel Laureates. Trondheim University Rector Torbjørn Digernes was also against the boycott from the start. Finally on 10 November 50 members of the Board of Governors of the University unanimously voted against the boycott: “ The meeting was attended by almost 50 members of the university community, a rare departure from the usual five attendees of board of governors meetings. The journalists, mostly from Norwegian publications, outnumbered the board members” The Jerusalem Post — http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1258027275931
