ACT NOW! Protest UNESCO 'Palestine' Vote
Dear Madam Director-General,
I join with the 400,000 worldwide family members of the Simon Wiesenthal Center to protest a vote on admitting ‘Palestine’ to UNESCO as a violation of UNESCO’s core mission to promote the betterment and advancement of all people through education, science, and culture, a mandate that should help pave the way for peaceful coexistence between neighbors.
Admittance of ‘Palestine’ to UNESCO will further empower the Palestinian leadership’s drive to erase the history of the Jewish people in the Holy Land by seeking to have holy sites, like the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, Joseph’s tomb in Nablus, Rachel’s tomb in Bethlehem, and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, declared as wholly Palestinian heritage sites.
While we respect UNESCO’s many fine programs, as citizens of democracies we do not want to see our tax dollars leveraged by those who seek to pervert UNESCO’s core mission. Therefore, if UNESCO votes to admit ‘Palestine’, I will urge my government to discontinue its funding of and membership in UNESCO.
