Dear Leaders of the US Senate and House of Representatives!

Thank you for inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress on July 24 of this year. This support for Israel is critically important today, including because the worldwide condemnation of Israel is the Hamas’s main weapon and is the main reason for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.


I share with you my recent Open Letter to Senator Elizabeth Warren, who accused Israel of genocide in Gaza, where I developed this idea.

Two other thoughts in this Open Letter:


(1) Israel in Gaza is not violating international humanitarian law, but rather is performing a Humanitarian Miracle unparalleled in history,

(2) Israel-cursing Palestinian defenders essentially do not view Palestinians as Human Beings and ignore the obvious fact that Israel is the only factor capable of protecting the Palestinians from the totalitarian rule of terrorists.

And having been human rights defender for half a century, in the USSR and then in Russia, 20 years of them in close collaboration with Andrei Sakharov, I cannot help but remember now with deep gratitude the historic joint meeting of the US Congress on May 21, 1986, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Andrei Sakharov, who was then in exile in complete isolation from the outside world. Then Elena Bonner spoke to Congress with a powerful address. Thank you!
